Exploring Excess: A process-oriented in-person group

Wondering about your relationship to a substance that you’re finding problematic? Or maybe you’re concerned about your relationship to exercise, food, shopping or work? Maybe you’re sober curious?

ARC Professional Group is pleased to offer this process group as a place for you to explore your relationship with excesses in your life - with no expectations from others about what’s next for you.

Thursdays 5:30pm-6:30pm Central

Beginning February 6th, 2025

 

In-person in Downtown Evanston

in an inviting loft space 

1 block from El/Metra & ample paid parking

       $55 per weekly meeting 

What to expect? This is a weekly in-person, open-ended and professionally-led process group for adults. 

A place to explore your relationship with substances and/or other concerning behaviors where either over- or under-control may arise such as: 

Work issues

Emotional pain

Relationships and interpersonal challenges

Sexual behaviors

Food

Exercise

When dynamics arise within the group that may reflect interpersonal challenges, those group dynamics will be explored in real-time.

Members will be accepted until there are 6 members.

Our perspective? Your personal history may impact your experience of yourself, your coping strategies, and interpersonal relationships.

About Sarah Schacht, MA, LCPC, Group Leader

Sarah has specialized interest and expertise in helping people non-judgmentally explore their relationship to substances and other potentially concerning behaviors. 

Sarah has trained at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute & Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy program and is versed in the theory and practice of Group Relations. 

Sarah earned her MA in Clinical Counseling and Psychotherapy from the Institute of Clinical Social Work in Chicago.
